DALLAS, W. Va. -- Nearly 24 hours later, neighbors in this small-knit community are still grieving after their local postmaster was killed by gunfire.Beverly Smith, a life long resident of Dallas, W.Va., told NEWS9 her nightmare has turned into a reality."I feel violated and shocked. It shouldn't happen out here....it's a reality check is all I can say," said Smith.Residents told NEWS9, that small town is just trying to cope with everything that has happened in the past day and trying to understand why this had to happen to them.Sunday night, a memorial service will be held in front of the post office in hopes to gain some closure."We need to come together now and begin the healing in our hearts and heal within the community," said Debra Bague, event coordinator.Bague told NEWS9 they will pull through."We will never forget the events that happened in Dallas, but we can heal and come together as a community and move forward," said Bague. The memorial service will be held Sunday at the Dallas Post Office beginning at 7:30 p.m.
