Son Arrested In Connection With Father's Slaying

A Triadelphia man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his father and dumping his body in the Ohio River.The body of James Lohr, 80, was found by fishermen last week in Brooke County. Police said the body had been intentionally weighted down.On Wednesday, the victim's son, 40-year-old James Lohr Jr., was arrested in Shelby County, Ohio, on a warrant for first-degree murder charges.In a news release, Sheriff Doug Schlagetter said Lohr was found in a van parked in high weeds on state Route 119 near Interstate 75, about 60 miles north of Dayton.His wife, Angela Lohr, 31, was questioned and released.Cpl. Jim Gibson of the West Virginia State Police said police are looking for other suspects and are also searching for a 1989 Ford F-150 that may also be involved.James Lohr Jr. was taken into police custody without incident. Soon after, he complained of chest pains and was transported to a hospital.Upon his release from the hospital, Lohr was transported to the Shelby County Jail.
