Man Suspected Of Killing Father To Be Extradited To Ohio County

Wednesday, July 23, 2008 – updated: 6:20 pm EDT July 23, 2008

A man suspected of killing his father, weighing his body down, and tossing him in the Ohio River will be extradited back to West Virginia.

James Lohr Jr., 40, of Triadelphia, is suspected of killing his 80-year-old father, whose body was found by fisherman in Brooke County last week.

Lohr Jr., 40, of Triadelphia, was arrested Wednesday in Shelby County, Ohio, about 60 miles from Dayton. In court later that same day, Lohr Jr. waived his right to an extradition hearing.

Cpl. Jim Gibson of the West Virginia State Police said more arrests may follow and asked that anyone with information call police.

"We have information to believe that there may be more than one person involved," Gibson said.

Earlier this week, police recovered James Lohr Sr.'s Chevy S-10 from a salvage yard in Washington County. On Wednesday, a second truck belonging to the victim was found on private property in Ohio County.

Investigators said they don't believe the property owners are directly involved in the case.

Ohio County Prosecutor Scott Smith said he will be prosecuting Lohr Jr.
