WHEELING, W.Va. -- A detour, some lane closures and a little congestion -- it's a perfect mix to create road rage, but some drivers making their way around the eastbound Wheeling tunnel said now that it's closed, they're doing their best to deal with it."[Interstate] 470's easier a lot of times," said Jim Loew of Valley Grove.Drivers who take the Main Street detour ran into construction clogging up one lane of traffic in front of the Capitol Music Hall."I live down here and I work in Beech Bottom. So I’m up and down all the time," said John Almond of Wheeling. Many are just trying to take it all in stride, knowing there's nothing they can do but wait for the contractor to finish work inside the eastbound tube started last year."I think people wouldn't care, you know, as long as they get it done right,” said Bill Strickler. “Get it done right and I don't think people would care about doing a detour."Although Strickler said he doesn't care, his opinion still reflects bitter feelings from the last tunnel closure."It should have been done right the first time," he added.
