Fire Fighters Worry About Propane Tanks In Building

MARTINS FERRY, Ohio -- Martins Ferry fire fighters worked long into Thursday night to make certain flames were fully extinguished at the former high school's vocational building.Fire fighters on the scene told NEWS9 there were several filled propane tanks in between the two buildings and they had to move them a safe distance from the fire.Fire chief Jack Regis was also concerned about the safety of the large crowd that assembled to see the fire.The chief would not say whether he though the fire was suspicious, but he has contacted a state fire marshal to investigate.There were no injuries and no estimate of the value of the damage caused by the fire.
