Crews Battle Belmont County House Fire

Three fire departments battled a house fire in Belmont County just before noon Friday.

Belmont County dispatchers said the home, on Hope Chapel Road – Township Road 549 in Pultney Township, outside of Neffs, was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters said the four people who lived at the home were not inside at the time and there were no reported injuries.

Investigators said the cause of the fire was unknown as of 4:45 p.m. Friday.

Neighbors said the neighborhood is like a close-knit family and they're going to help the family recover.

"We'll pull together and pack up some furniture, some money, whatever they need. We'll help them get back together," said Tom Myers.

Firefighters said the family's cat did not survive the blaze but their dog was able to escape.
