A Bellaire girl mauled by a dog more than twice her weight said she "thought she was going to die" during the attack.Witnesses collaborated to beat the dog off 12-year-old Hannah Garner-Henry on Thursday, but the child suffered cuts and wounds to more than a dozen places on her body.Hannah’s family said she is tiny, 70 pounds at the most. Witnesses said the dog is about 150 pounds. The dog, an English mastiff, will be euthanized, said owner Charles Jackson.Jackson said he's had the dog for two years and never had a problem with the animal. He said the dog broke its chain and a fence, escaped from the back yard and attacked the child as she rode her bike.“It tears you apart," Jackson said. "I have a 5-year-old and a 14-year-old; it could have been mine."The Belmont County animal warden said the breed is not typically known for attacking. As of Friday afternoon, Jackson had not been cited, but police said they passed the case along to the county prosecutor.Hannah's mother said the girl will return to a hospital on Aug. 18.Stay with NEWS9 and WTOV9.com for continuing coverage.
