A woman is in the hospital after flipping her SUV onto its roof in Weirton. Police said the driver was headed uphill when she lost control.

The crash happened just after 10 a.m. Thursday on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Weirton Patrolman Jason Kazmirski said he drove up the hill and found the vehicle flipped over with a middle-aged female driver still inside.

“She was seat-belted in, upside down. She wasn’t complaining of any pain but she just wanted out of the vehicle,” said Kazmirski.

Police are not releasing the name or age of the driver. Police said she was taken to Weirton Medical Center and may be transported to a Pittsburgh hospital.
