Motion Approved To Waive Health-Plan Contributions

Employers and employees in Jefferson County are catching a break and a county commissioner said it will be a welcome change for everyone affected.During Thursday morning’s commission meeting, commissioners approved a motion to waive county employee contributions to the self-funded health plan.In recent years, the commission worked to pay down a multimillion-dollar debt incurred in the previous health plan.County Commissioner Tom Graham said due to a near $6 million surplus in the plan, employers and employees are catching a break.
