Thursday, September 25, 2008 – updated: 12:05 pm EDT September 25, 2008

Employers and employees in Jefferson County are catching a break and a county commissioner said it will be a welcome change for everyone affected.

During Thursday morning’s commission meeting, commissioners approved a motion to waive county employee contributions to the self-funded health plan.

County Commissioner Tom Graham said due to a near $6 million surplus in the plan, employers and employees are catching a break.
