A car exploded and blew the doors off of a Toronto automotive business Wednesday night.

Three people were working on the car and not one was injured.

The explosion happened at 7:00 p.m. at Hometown Auto Service and Repair on Main St.

Owner Jonathan Grimm and two friends were doing welding work on the car and fire fighters told NEWS9 sparks from the torch ignited fuel in the car.

Two other cars were damaged and the building's windows and doors were charred and shattered.

The business is insured and Grimm told NEWS9 he hopes to re-open soon.
