A board member with the Veterans Service Office in harrison county says there is not enough money to pay the workers and keep the office open.

Jim Thompson said it has been an ongoing battle with commissioners, from reducing their budget, to not having enough money to meet its payroll.

Commissioner Mike Vinka said the county does not have any money for the veterans office, but the commissioners will explore other ways of finding funds.

Thompson said he will meet with veteran's service commission board soon to see if they can keep the office open while the search for funding continues.
