Police in Belmont County charged 14 people with felony drug trafficking Tuesday.

Each of the suspects faces between one and five counts. Police said those arrested lived in Bridgeport, Martins Ferry, Jacobsburg, Bellaire and Shadyside.

The following were arrested:

-Brittany Schau, accused of dealing cocaine;

-Kirk M. Halenar, accused of dealing cocaine out of his home

-James A. Wade Jr., accused of dealing crack cocaine

-William D. West, accused of dealing OxyContin

-Matthew J. Turkoly, accused of dealing cocaine

-Suzette M. Turkoly, accused of dealing cocaine

-Robert J. Baker II, accused of dealing marijuana

-Debbie S. Kinney, accused of dealing Vyvanse, a prescription drug

-Harrie L. Perko, accused of dealing fentanyl patches

- Mikeel Samaniego

Police also said Thomas Duda and Angela Black were arrested on drug charges last week in Powhatan. Further, a juvenile was charged with trafficking.

Prosecutor Chris Berhalter said he hopes the arrests will prevent other crimes across the county.

"Drugs branch out to form the underlying cause of so many other crimes such as assaults, thefts and burglaries," Berhalter said.

He said some of the allegations involve drugs being sold in homes and in schools.

"It's just the beginning of what the Belmont County Drug Task Force has been working on," Berhalter said.
