Woman Awakes To Man In Bedroom

Man Took Wedding Band, Cash, Woman Says

A Madison, N.C., woman told sheriff's deputies that she awoke about 2:20 a.m. on Sunday to find a man standing in her bedroom.

Rockingham County sheriff's deputies said the woman recognized the man and asked him what he was doing, local station WXII reported.

Deputies said the man, identified as Carl Pegram III, 36, of Madison, told the woman to stay quiet as he left her house.

The woman, who discovered that a cell phone, $400 cash and a wedding band had been stolen, said she saw Pegram leave in a burgundy Chevrolet Camaro.

Deputies didn't say how she recognized Pegram.
