A jury was selected Monday and trial is set to begin for a Steubenville man accused in the stabbing death of a woman more than 20 years ago.Police arrested 52-year-old Michael Harris in July on charges of aggravated murder in connection with the 1987 stabbing death of 20-year-old Jill Howard.Harris previously pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was originally arrested 10 days after Howard’s death in 1987, but prosecutors felt there was not enough evidence to go to trial at that time.Prosecutors have since said new DNA evidence links Harris to the killing.Since then, Harris' defense attorney filed several motions in Jefferson County Court to suppress evidence and dismiss the indictment against his client.Summit County Judge Ted Snyderman of Summit County is presiding over the case.
