Weirton police arrested four more people on drug charges Tuesday, bringing the total number of arrests to 13 in three days.Officials said all of those arrested are accused of heroin-related crimes.Detective Rob Alexander said the suspects are all from the Valley and are of various ages, backgrounds and occupations.“Heroin has no prejudice,” Alexander said. “Anyone can get addicted.”The city’s Street Crimes unit has been conducting drug investigations, and Alexander said every arrest leads to more investigations. He said with each drug arrest made, police notice a decrease in other crimes like theft or burglary.“It’s important to stop the influx of drugs, no matter what kind, from coming into the city of Weirton,” Alexander said.He said police will continue to make more arrests and hope to work with other departments to stop the flow of drugs into the city.
