Judge Martin Gaughn accepted a plea agrement for addmitted killer Eric Sponaugle.Attorneys for both sides dropped a provision that would have allowed the killer to spend some extra time with his family.Sponaugle admitted to stabbing Gary Williams to death at a Weirton bar in January. Williams tried to break up a fight between Sponaugle and another man when he suffered the fatal stab wound.Sponaugle will receive 15 years in prison for the manslaughter charge and three to fifteen years for two assault charges.Prosecutor Jim Davis said he would have like to have seen a stricter sentence but it was the best he could get considering circumstances in the investigation.Sponaugle could be eligible for parole after seven and a half years.
