Robbery Suspect Tackled By Vocelli Pizza Employees
A local man is charged with aggravated robbery after police said he walked into the Vocelli Pizza shop and demanded cash, while holding a pistol.Wheeling police said Troy Pasquale, 40, walked into the Vocelli store on Market Street in Wheeling on Sunday and with a weapon in hand, tried to grab the cash register.Shawn Watson, store manager, said Pasquale tried to run away after Watson hit him with a stapler. But he said he and another employee tackled Pasquale to the ground, grabbed the gun and managed to keep him restrained until police arrived."We just put him on the ground, Steve had him in a head lock and we just kind of forced him to the ground. He basically just stopped and stayed there until police came," said Watson.Watson said the other employee went to the hospital after hurting his arm trying to tackle Pasquale. He's expected to be ok.
