TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio -- The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a man was found murdered feet from the Tuscarawas Valley School soccer field.

According to Sheriff Walt Wilson, the body was found in the woods in Sandy Township over the weekend.

Autopsy results, which were just released Monday, point to the victim being shot in the head before his body was burnt.

Although the body was severly burnt, Wilson said the victim was wearing black Italian leather shoes and a Rumors wristwatch.

Investigators do not believe the body had been at the location for a long period of time.

Wilson said he's hoping the public will come forward with information that will help the case.
