Former County Investigator Heads To Prison

Time is up, and now a former Jefferson County employee convicted of theft in office will head off to prison.

David Workman will spend the next nine months in prison after being convicted in Jefferson County Court.

Workman's sentence was handed down last week.

Judge Joseph Bruzzese gave Workman one week to clear up his finances and now that time is up.

At 9 a.m. Workman will be taken to prison for stealing Joseph Verstratten's credit card from the county morgue and racking up charges at a local strip club.

Workman is also facing charges in West Virginia.

Verstratten's family looked on as workman was sentenced, and they wanted workman to get the maximum one-year sentence.
