Moundsville Man Accused Of Dangling Baby From Third-Story Window

Police said a Marshall County man was drunk when he allegedly dangled his 6-month-old child from a third-story window.

David Anthony Dale, 26, is accused of dangling the baby out of the Third Street window around 4 p.m. Sunday. Dale allegedly held the baby out and asked three teens who were passing by if they wanted the child.

The teens told another adult, who notified police.

“The fact that you can get that drunk in the presence of a 6-month-old baby that you’re supposed to be taking care of and then you go and do something like that -- it’s crazy,” said Moundsville police Sgt. Darren Whipkey.

Officials said the baby’s mother was in the apartment but said she did not know what occurred.

Dale remains in the Northern Regional Jail on $6,500 bond.

The Department of Health and Human Resources placed the baby in a grandmother’s care.
