Valley Bridge Repair Starting Soon

Posted: 12:00 am EDT March 29, 2009Updated: 12:12 pm EDT March 29, 2009

The Ohio Department of Transportation is set to begin work Monday to repair the State Route 152 bridge over U.S. Route 22 in Jefferson County.

The repairs are set for the section of the roadway at the Bloomingdale exit.

SR 152 will be closed to traffic starting Monday for 65 days, and U.S. 22 will be restricted to 14-foot lanes both east and westbound under the bridge.

A bridge beam at the location involved was damaged in December 2007 by an oversized load. However, the bridge deck will also be replaced as part of the project.

The project is estimated to cost $1.5 million. A company out of Canton, Ohio, is doing the work.

The project is expected to be completed by June 30.
