Officials in Jefferson County told NEWS9 Sunday that a water main break in Irondale is still forcing some residents to deal without having water.

Crews said the break happened around 7 p.m. underneath the area post office on East Avenue.

Officials said crews said people living on East Avenue and Broadway Street are the ones affected by the break.

Police told NEWS9 workers were at the scene trying to repair the break, but they have to relocate the line.

As of late Sunday officials said water would likely not be restored to those affected until Monday.
