Apparent Nazi Demonstration Draws Protesters

In Tuscarawas County, police told NEWS9 that an apparent Nazi demonstration took place Sunday in New Philadelphia.

Police said the demonstration happened in the town square Sunday evening.

Officers said about seven people who were apparently Nazi's began waving Nazi-inspired flags with swastika imagery. And police also said that the apparent Nazi's were yelling pro-Adolf Hitler statements that angered many locals passing by.

The Times-Reporter for Dover-New Philadelphia provided NEWS9 with pictures of the demonstration turned protest.

Police said a crowd gathered, made up of at least 60 people who were angry about the apparent Nazi demonstration.

According to officers, several police were dispatched to the scene to make sure things stayed under control.

Thankfully no one was hurt.

Officers said no one was arrested, but some verbal warnings were given.
