Weather Delays U.S. 22 Shutdown

NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO -- Part of U.S. Route 22 in Jefferson County was slated to be shut down Tuesday as part of a bridge replacement project, but weather has delayed the work.An Ohio Department of Transportation spokeswoman said weather permitting, U.S. 22 at the Bloomingdale Exit will be shut down Thursday as part of a bridge replacement project.During the shutdown U.S. 22 traffic will be rerouted onto the exit ramps and back onto the highway.As part of the project, SR 152 remains closed until later this month. Northbound SR 152 traffic is being detoured east on U.S. 22 to the Broadacre Interchange and back; southbound traffic is being detoured west on U.S. 22 to the Hopedale Interchange and back.The $1.5 million project should be completed by Jun. 30.
