2 Horses Center Of Animal Cruelty Investigation

Posted: 7:28 pm EDT July 3, 2009Updated: 7:54 pm EDT July 3, 2009

An animal cruelty investigation is underway in Harrison County where Humane Society officials told NEWS9 they are working on a very disturbing case involving two horses.

When the horses were brought into the Humane Society’s care they had cuts so deep their bones were almost visible. Their manes were matted with blood and numerous bruises were visible. One of the horses injuries were so severe it had to be euthanized.

Police said they are investigating Chester Thompson, who is no stranger to animal cruelty charges. Thompson is currently serving a sentence of twelve months probation for a case involving a horse back in May. Officials told NEWS9 it has been ongoing with Thompson for years now and that he shouldn’t be allowed to own a field mouse.

No charges have been filed against Thompson yet. However, the Humane Society and Police are confident something will be done soon.
