STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Steubenville officers said they were forced to put down a pit bull Sunday, after it and another pit bull cornered a husband a wife and mauled a cat.

Police said it happened in the Labelle section of the city on Maryland Avenue. They are warning that the other dog was shot, but not killed. If residents see an injured pit bull they should immediately call police.

Officers have had several other pit bull complaints in the same general area within the past few days.
