Deputy Struck By Car; Assailant Remains At Large

WELLSVILLE, Ohio -- A search is under way for a man who struck a deputy with his vehicle, Columbiana County dispatchers said.The deputy was injured after the vehicle struck him on Old Irondale Road in Wellsville Sunday around 3 p.m.Dispatchers said the accident happened when the deputy chasing the vehicle pulled in front of it; the deputy then got out of his car and signaled the driver to pull over. The driver then struck the deputy, pushing him into the hillside.The deputy was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries.Anyone with information is asked to call the NEWS9 Crimebusters Tipline at 800-862-BUST.More info should be available Monday.
