Prosecutor Gets Report On Case Linked To Celebrity Babies' Surrogate

NEWS9 confirmed new details Tuesday in an investigation that has been been under way for a few weeks in Belmont County.

It centers around Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter and the local woman who was the surrogate mother of the children of actress Sarah Jessica Parker and actor Matthew Broderick.

As NEWS9 has reported, Harrison County prosecutor Shawn Hervey has been brought in as a special prosecutor in the case.

On Tuesday, Hervey confirmed he has the final report from investigators in-hand.

Hervey told NEWS9 if any charges come as a result of that investigation, those charges would come later this month during the next term of the grand jury.
