BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio -- Two local police chiefs and a mayor's son are expected to be charged in connection with an ongoing investigation regarding the surrogate mother for actress Sarah Jessica Parker and actor Matthew Broderick.Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter, Bridgeport Police Chief Chad Dojack and Bruce Callarik, the son of Bridgeport’s mayor and Dojack's father-in-law, were booked at the Belmont County jail around 9 p.m. Wednesday. The three men voluntarily turned themselves in for "anticipatory processing," Sheriff Fred Thompson said. Thompson said they have not been charged with any crime, but the chiefs said they were preparing to be indicted.Thompson said it may seem like backward logic, but for the men accused, it was forward thinking. By being processed at the jail before being charged, the men avoided media attention. Further, the case remains sealed pending their arraignment."(They) get the processing taken care of without any of the hoopla or paparazzi," Thompson said.
