A suicide prevention and intervention seminar was held Wednesday at Jefferson Community College.

Russ Crabtree, from Best Minds Consulting, said suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students.

Crabtree told students, faculty and community members about the importance of speaking up when one is contemplating suicide.

Crabtree said for every suicide, there are as many as 100 attempts.

Josh Hilliard, of Rayland, Ohio, said he talked a friend out of committing suicide by helping him realize living is better than being "six feet in the ground."
