Report: Dentist Failed To Properly Sedate Patient

A Marshall County dentist's anesthesia license has been suspended, according to an order from the West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners.The report alleges Dr. Charles Wylie, whose practice is in Glen Dale, failed to properly sedate a patient.The report details the amount of Halicon the dentist gave to a patient during a five-hour procedure. The board said the patient suffered a poisoning and toxic effect, or an overdose.The order says the board believes Wylie engaged in conduct far beyond medically acceptable standards.Calls from NEWS9 to the state board of medicine and Wylie were not immediately returned.
