HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio -- Two women had to be airlifted to Wheeling Hospital Thursday night after crashing their pickup truck into a tree in Cadiz.

They crashed on State Route 9, just about a mile north of the vocational school.

Troopers had to shut the road down for a while as crews used the Jaws of Life to get the victims out.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said Sheri Hauber of Jewett was driving the pickup truck and Sue Riley was her passenger.

Troopers said Hauber drove full-speed into the tree and never hit the brakes.

The crash is under investigation.
