Knights Of Columbus Auction Building In Mingo Junction

The Knights of Columbus in Mingo Junction said goodbye to a long-standing part of their history because of tough economic times.

The organization is working to auction off the their building along Legion Drive. Members built it with their own hands in 1972. Upkeep for the building cost over $2,500 dollars per month, a huge financial drain for the group. Plus, dropping member participation added to their struggles. Their numbers are right around 250 memebers now, compared with over 600 when they built the building. Despite these hardships, organization leaders say the Knights of Columbus will still be around to help the Mingo Junction community.

Once the building is sold, the group will continue holding meetings at an alternate location until they can construct a new, smaller building.
