Bellaire Residents Dealing With Hollywood Headaches

Posted: 4:50 pm EST November 12, 2009Updated: 5:09 pm EST November 12, 2009

In Bellaire, residents said the filming of a movie has been causing them headaches the size of Hollywood.

Crews filming the movie "Unstoppable," starring Denzel Washington, have not only stopped roadway traffic, but also disrupted school bus routes.

Wednesday, many parents were furious after 12 students were dropped off 10 to 15 blocks away from their normal bus stop because the roads were blocked due to filming.

The parents said they weren't notified, and Bellaire Superintendent Tony Scott took full responsibility, saying, "We dropped the ball."

As of 4:45 p.m. Thursday, traffic was bumper-to-bumper in the small village. NEWS9 crews were even stuck because when film crews go into lockdown, no one can get through the area.

Filming is expected to last until Friday. Stay with NEWS9 and WTOV9.com for continuing coverage.
