Celebrity Surrogate Trial Not In Session Wednesday

In Belmont County, the celebrity surrogate scandal trial will not be in session Wednesday because the suspended police chief's attorney is working on another high-profile local case.

Attorney Dennis McNamara is headed to Youngstown to appeal a murder conviction against a local man.

The trial against suspended Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter will resume Thursday and that's when the prosecution plans to present evidence against Carpenter in the form of audio tapes. The surrogate mother for actress Sarah Jessica Parker's twin babies is also expected to take the stand.

NEWS9's Allison Latos will be back in the courtroom following the very latest in this case.
