ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio -- The suspicious package that forced the evacuation of the Ohio Valley Plaza shopping center contained only a brick, a cell phone and a cell phone charger.

However, that cardboard box and its contents created a major stir Thursday evening.

Belmont County Sheriff Fred Thompson told NEWS9 a man walked into the Factory Card Outlet store carrying the box and a note.

"He placed the package on the counter," Thompson said. "The note said there was a bomb in it and not to call police for 30 minutes."

The man left with cash and the employee at the counter called police.

The robber's face and hands were uncovered, so the employee was able to give deputies a partial description and state investigators were able to retrieve fingerprints.

He's described as a white male in his 60s. He is between 6 feet 1 inch and 6 feet 2 inches tall and had a goatee.

Thompson said the employee did not recognize the robber and that the store does not have surveillance cameras.

Thompson said connecting a name with the fingerprints could take up to two weeks.
