Officials in Wetzel County said an elderly man died of a heart attack as a result of a fire in his home.

The body of Norman Oswald, 80, was discovered in his bedroom where the fire started.

Investigators with the WV State Fire Marshal's Office said Oswald may have attempted to extinguish the fire or retrieve some of his 100+ guns that were located in the same room.

A medical examiner determined Oswald died from a heart attack. Officials said Oswald had suffered a previous heart attack and a stroke.

Officials said the fire originated at the breaker box in a closet, but they did not call it the actual cause of the blaze.
