New Medical Facility Provides Long-Term Care, Creates Jobs

A new facility in Belmont Community Hospital is designed to provide long-term care for patients with complex medical problems and create new jobs.

Acuity Healthcare invested $1.2 million to get the facility ready and patients with complex medical needs can now stay closer to home for long-term treatment instead of traveling far distances for care.

The 32-bed facility is also projected to pour $4.1 million back into the local economy.

"The bottom line here is we have 50 to 75 new jobs in Bellaire, Ohio, in Belmont County and this is the kind improvement we need to get people back to work," said Rep. Charlie Wilson, a Democrat from Ohio.

Bellaire Mayor Vince DiFabrizio said, "This is what we want to see. This is going to boost our economy greatly."
