Hundreds of peoples are signing up to be trained as table games dealers as Pennsylvania prepares to open up gaming possibly as soon as this summer. At West Virginia Northern Community College -- which offers table game training -- they hope that will be good news.“We’ve actually trained probably about 1.200 people so far since the beginning,” said Mike Koon, of WVNCC.Koon said established dealers may leave the area looking for work in Pennsylvania, which will open up the need for more locally trained dealers.Koon said many of those people who become certified work locally at Wheeling Island or Mountaineer, but others will likely head to Pennsylvania looking for work as the Meadows and River casinos prepare to start up table gaming.“We still think that probably in the next couple months, there's going to be some folks in the tracks here who now have experience who probably will be able to go to one of the other locations and get a supervisory position,” Koon said.Koon said he’s keeping an eye on Ohio’s casinos now and will get a feel for the number of dealers and training in the area. He said the college will be proactive in working with both local gaming facilities to help ensure there are plenty people of trained when new casinos come coming to area.
