Troopers: Alcohol Suspected In Fatal Rollover Crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio -- One person died and another was injured after a rollover crash in Jefferson County on Wednesday.Allen Briggs, 51, of Rayland, died after a minivan struck an embankment and rolled over several times, throwing him from the vehicle.The crash happened on State Route 151 between New Alexandria and Smithfield around 9 p.m.Ohio State Highway Patrol officers said Diana Eakle, who was also in the van, was treated for non- life-threatening injuries.Investigators said Wednesday night that alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash.
