Accused Rapist Captured

JEFFERSON COUNTY, OH -- A cabin in rural Jefferson County proved a good hiding place for 32-year-old William Jones of Salineville, until Jefferson County Sheriffs deputies knocked on his door Thursday night.
Jones is wanted in Columbiana County for allegedly raping a 7-year-old child. Police have been looking for him since he was indicted in February.
Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said, "People saw his picture on Crimebusters on News 9 and they called and said he was in this area. If it weren't for Crimebusters we wouldn't have apprehended this guy."
Police knocked first, and when Jones wouldn't come out they tear gassed the cabin. They found Jones under the bed with his hands above his head.
Jones is being held in the Columbiana County jail.
