Anyone who got a traffic camera ticket after the court-ordered injunction has two more months before they need to pay. Those who already paid will have to wait longer to see if they'll get their money back.

Because of a pending class action lawsuit on behalf of the 6,000 people who got speeding tickets, a judge issued an injunction against the traffic cameras. They were removed back in December, and a judge ruled tickets issued from the camera can not be enforced until the case goes to court.

That was supposed to be next week. Now, Trafficpax, the owner of the cameras, asked a judge to take them off the lawsuit. The judge pushed back the court date, but the cameras won't be back anytime soon.

"The preliminary injunction that was issued by Judge Henderson remains in effect until the March 9th final hearing," said Gary Stern, the attorney who filed the lawsuit.

So, those who have tickets have two more months before they might have to pay. But, those hoping to get a reimbursement check in the mail will have to wait.

"I guess we're just going to wait and see if we can get the money back," said Wayne Strouther.

The reason you have to wait is that Trafficpax claims they shouldn't be part of the lawsuit because they have nothing to do with the Steubenville ordinance.

"I wonder, I'm very suspicious of Trafficpax," said Stern. "If they want out of the lawsuit, is that so they can take the money and run?"

Stern said Steubenville doesn't have any information on who already paid tickets'that was all kept by Trafficpax.

"Without the information from Trafficpax as to who paid the money," Stern said. "We don't know who to send the money back to."

Henderson will hear Trafficpax argument on Tuesday. From there, the case is set to go to court March 9.
