Poll Workers On Decline

West Virginia Secretary of State Betty Ireland is preparing to introduce a new initiative to recruit more poll workers.

According to the Election Assistance Commission more than one million people do not show up on Election Day. The secretary of state's press office says the new plan is a pro-active approach to the number of changes due to the new touch screen voting machines.

Marshall County Clerk, Jan Pest, says it is becoming more difficult to replace the aging group of poll workers in her county.
