Suspected Illegal Immigrants Arrested

Wheeling police arrested two suspected illegal immigrants Friday, bringing the total number of similar arrests to over 80 in Ohio County alone.Police said the men were standing at a bus stop near Lincoln Drive and National Road. When police asked for identification, the men only had Mexican driver's licenses and did not have green cards.Carlos Gonsalez, 42, and Jose Guadalupe Salvidar Garcia, 22, admitted they were not U.S. citizens and said they were employed at the Golden Chopstix on North York Street on Wheeling Island.Both men requested that police notify their employer that they would not be coming to work.The men, who said they are from Puerto Vallarta, were taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from Pittsburgh.Stay with NEWS9 for continuing coverage.-Renee Cardelli & Jackie Cain, NEWS9
