Ohio Valley Gets Its Own Online Auction Site

Posted: 4:39 pm EDT August 31, 2006Updated: 5:32 pm EDT September 1, 2006

A local entrepreneur has set up a website exclusively for Ohio Valley residents to buy and sell online.

John Koniski said his website is perfect for those living in the Valley who want to buy and sell items.

The site is similar to Ebay, but Koniski said it's less expensive and more convenient.

Koniski described the site as a "super local version" of that ever-so-popular auction website.

"Just like Ebay, the local community can buy and sell anything from cars, to video games -- you name it," he said.

He created the site just a couple of weeks ago at the suggestion of his wife.

"I was thinking about doing another national site like Ebay, (and) she said why not try one for the local Valley?" he said.

Koniski said purchases made on the site cost less because they're local; instead of paying expensive shipping and handling fees, buyers can simply pick their items up.

"We also offer free classified ads. If you want to list cars for sale, homes for sale, everything is free," he said.

He said the site is just beginning and Valley residents can expect many more features in the future.
