Tickets for Clinton's visit released

By Alex Koscevic

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio —

At 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Gary Johnston of Mingo Junction said he started the line outside of the Steubenville Obama campaign office.

He said he waited in line for tickets to former President Clinton's stop in Wintersville for two reasons.

"Well, No. 1, I'm a Democrat. No. 2, President Clinton was one of the best presidents we ever had and a chance to see him -- that's why I came down," Johnston said.

Tickets were also available at the Lisbon and Martins Ferry campaign offices. Campaign workers in Steubenville said they had 1,000 tickets to give out, and were permitting each person in line to receive multiple tickets.

With last night's presidential debate fresh in their minds, another Obama supporter in line said the president's performance solidified his vote.

"(There is a) lack of jobs in the Valley. Lot of people are struggling, trying to survive. Just need more jobs, you know? Manufacturing jobs, that's the main thing. Just like President Obama talked about last night," said Charlie Brooke of Steubenville.

Izzy Santa, spokesperson for the Romney campaign, released a statement to NEWS9 that said, "Even Bill Clinton can't change the fact that President Obama has no record to run on and no plan to fix the economy. President Obama's policies continue to hurt coal jobs and communities across Ohio and hinder American competitiveness with China. It's clear that Ohioans simply can't afford four more years like the last four years under President Obama."

For Clinton's visit at Indian Creek High School, doors open at 1:30 p.m.
