1 charged after shots fired in Belmont Co.

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio --


One man was charged after shots were fired in St. Clairsville early Friday and a bullet was found in a wall of a home just feet from where children were sleeping.

Devin Robertson is charged with using a weapon while intoxicated. Officials said he was released after posting a $1,000 cash bond.

The alleged incident happened around 4 a.m. Friday, when police responded to several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of Dennis Lane and High Street in St. Clairsville.

According to a news release, officers checked the area and spoke with Robertson. Backup units with the Sheriff's Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol then located a Kel-Tec 9 mm rifle on the back porch.

Officers then spotted numerous shell cases in the yard and driveway of 137 High St. Robertson was taken into custody and transported to the Belmont County Jail.

On Saturday morning, police said a resident discovered a bullet hole in the rear window of a home, then found a bullet lodged in a wall within feet of where children were sleeping.

Officials said more charges may be filed against Robertson.
