MARTINS FERRY, Ohio – Police say a 20-year-old victim was stabbed and cut approximately 17 times in Martins Ferry early Thursday morning and her boyfriend is a suspect in the crime.
Officials say the victim is expected to survive, but the suspect, 23-year-old Darion Frazier, is on the run.
Martins Ferry Police Chief John McFarland said Frazier entered his ex-girlfriend's apartment at Jaycee Manor through a window. An argument ensued, and police were called to the complex for a domestic disturbance.
When officers arrived, Frazier allegedly took off, and police chased him on foot without success.
The victim was found inside, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
“We're hoping that he turns himself in and we'll give him an opportunity to tell his side of the story,” McFarland said. “If not he’s going to be caught sooner or later."
Police recovered two small knives inside the apartment. Investigators are still unsure which was used in the stabbing.
Frazier's last known address is in Bridgeport, but police say he also has ties to the Wheeling and Dayton areas.
Officers are using their best resources to track him down.
In the meantime, if you have more details in this case or have information on Frazier's whereabouts, you're asked to call the Martins Ferry Police Department or our Crimebusters Tipline at 1-800-862-bust.
