BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio -- The 18th Annual Plaza West Fest in St. Clairsville kicks off today, and hundreds are expected to be on hand for the "Parking Lot Party."
"A Dollar a Dog" is the slogan for this year as event sponsors try to achieve a goal of $3,600 in donations.
"It's a busy day here,” said Jane Dombroski, Riesbeck’s store events coordinator. “It's a little crazy."
While the Plaza West Fest is free, donation buckets will be set up throughout the venue with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley.
This year, the bar is set high.
"We really need the community support to raise this $3,600 for the United Way,” Dombroski said.
There's never a shortage of entertainment, from music to fireworks.
"The community really, really looks forward to this event because of the fireworks at the end,” Dombroski said. “That's the ta-da for the event. It's very community oriented."
You don't need to bring much -- just yourself and some dollars for donation.
"Bring a chair, bring a blanket and come on down," Dombroski said
The fun kicks off at 4:30 with fireworks at dusk.
