BELLAIRE, Ohio – All 29 employees were able to get out safely after a fire engulfed the Electronic Recycling Service in Bellaire, according to general manager Jim Johnston.
Johnston added that they have a safety plan in which they test frequently.
As of 12:30 p.m., crews had torn down a side of the building to access the fire but it was still far from under control.
After the blaze broke out just before 10 a.m., and because of the heavy smoke and potentially toxic fumes caused by the fire, residents within a three-block radius were asked to evacuate homes.
No injuries were reported and multiple crews responded to the call.
